Walk of life - The book about places related to Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler's songs and history

Walk of life is a book, written in a biographical style, about the places related to Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler songs and history. Through 366 pages it travels to the cities that inspired their songs and views some of their more important moments.

Based on the book "Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler's London", it has been expanded to include many other cities to become a new book, further than simply the London references of the former edition.

It starts with Glasgow, the city where both Knopfler brothers were born, followed by Newcastle where they grew up, then Leeds and the first steps of Mark in music and the arrival to both brothers to London to fund Dire Straits.

London takes the biggest number of pages in the book, with chapters about other places like New York, Edinburgh, Pennan, Nashville etc

The book is written by two fans with the help of many other fans that allowed the writers to use many of their pictures to illustrate the chapters in this book, and is also filled with helpful maps and QR codes that will help the readers to visit the places mentioned in the book.

Also, professional photographers and people related to these stories helped with their own pictures and comments to make this book even more interesting. All of them are credited in the book, and without their assistance, some of the pages in the book would never have existed.

The book has two editions, one with all the pictures in colour, and another one, a cheaper version, with the pictures in black and white.
